Finch Litigation

The system a dispute lives in

Finch Litigation holds a matter from the client’s first message to the final invoice. It reads every page, keeps every fact tied to where it was said, and writes the way your firm writes.

How a matter moves

Every page, read.

  1. 01

A matter arrives as a pile.

Pleadings, exhibits, letters, a scan of a photocopy of a stamped agreement. Finch takes them in bulk, scans and photocopies included.

  2. 02

Every page is read in full.

Large sets are read whole, an 800-page bundle included. Each fact Finch lifts out keeps the exact region of the page it came from.

  3. 03

So any fact opens at its source.

Click an evidence item or a date and the page opens with the passage boxed. You check it in a second, without hunting.

Spatial Highlighting

Click a fact. The page opens where it was said.

Finch keeps the exact region of the page every fact came from, down to the passage. Pick a fact below and watch the page.

14. EVENTS OF DEFAULT

14.1 Non-payment. The Borrower does not pay on the due date any amount payable pursuant to a Finance Document at the place and in the currency in which it is expressed to be payable, unless its failure to pay is caused by administrative or technical error and payment is made within three Business Days of its due date.

14.2 Change of control. It is an Event of Default if any person or group of persons acting in concert gains control of the Borrower; or the Borrower ceases to be a wholly-owned Subsidiary of Halden Holdings Limited. On and at any time after the occurrence of an Event of Default the Lender may, by notice to the Borrower, declare that all amounts outstanding under the Finance Documents are immediately due and payable.

14.3 Insolvency. The Borrower is unable or admits inability to pay its debts as they fall due, suspends making payments on any of its debts or, by reason of actual or anticipated financial difficulties, commences negotiations with one or more of its creditors.

From the first call
to the final invoice.

Each step hands its work to the next, and a lawyer can correct it at every stage before it carries forward.

  1. 01

    Intake

A client link, a review queue, one click

A lawyer shares an intake link. The client fills a short form with no account or login, attaches documents and states the issue. It lands in a review queue and one click turns it into a live matter.

  2. 02

    Matter

    The matter, set up properly

Parties and roles, opposing counsel, matter type, phase, fee arrangement and the first deadline. Matters are templated against the firm’s main practice areas.

  3. 03

    Documents

Read in bulk, with the source kept

Filings, exhibits and correspondence are uploaded in bulk and read, including scans and photocopies. Every extracted fact keeps the coordinates of where it came from.

  4. 04

    Brief

    Five checkable steps

Classify the matter, extract the evidence, assemble the chronology, find contradictions and gaps, write the brief. Evidence items and chronology entries stay editable.

  5. 05

    Research

Every claim pinned to a paragraph

Ask in plain English, or give the facts of the matter, and receive an answer where each claim is pinned to the paragraph it rests on.

  6. 06

    Draft

    In your firm’s own structure

Drafts are built from the brief and from research a lawyer has already checked, in the firm’s own structure.

  7. 07

    Client

    A portal with no passwords

A passwordless client portal shows matters, documents and billing, with a plain-language summary.

  8. 08

    Billing

Time to invoice on the same record

Time and expenses logged against the matter become an invoice with CGST and SGST handled, exported as a PDF. Payments and retainers are tracked against the same record.

Case law research

We read the Supreme Court ourselves.

Finch built its own index from the official Supreme Court Reports. Nothing is licensed and resold. Ask in plain English, or give the facts of your matter, and every claim in the answer is pinned to the paragraph it rests on.

  • 38,366Supreme Court judgments, 1950 to 2026
  • 925,893passages, each searchable on its own
  • 52,411citation links between judgments
  • 2,108Constitution Bench decisions identified

The paragraph is the unit of search.

You land on the passage that answers the question, with the grounds on which later benches followed or distinguished it.

It knows the size of the bench.

Bench strength is read from the judgment across 94% of the corpus, because a two-judge bench cannot overrule a five-judge one.

It will not call a case good law.

That judgment belongs to counsel. Finch flags overruling, and where the material is thin, it says so.

Advocacy preparation

Walk into conference knowing their case.

Give Finch the facts of a live matter. It returns a conference note: the argument to run, strongest first, each point with its authority marked binding or analogy. Then what the other side will say, including how your own authority was later treated, and how to answer it. Where the material supports no rebuttal, Finch stays silent.

Conference noteSample

The argument to run

  1. The claim was filed within limitation. Authority A · binding
  2. The notice was valid on its terms. Authority C · analogy

What they will say

  1. Time ran from the first default notice.
  2. Authority A was later distinguished on its facts.

How to answer

  1. A written acknowledgement restarts the period.
  2. The later case turned on different pleadings.

Drafting in your firm’s voice

Drafts that look like yours.

During onboarding Finch learns how your firm sets a document: numbering, heading hierarchy, prayer and verification, citation style, spacing and margins. That structure becomes the rule, with no quiet fallback to a generic template, and every draft is checked against your own sample. Partners and practices can keep their own styles.

Drafting

IN THE COURT OF THE DISTRICT JUDGE

WRITTEN STATEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE DEFENDANT

1. That the contents of paragraph 1 of the plaint are denied for want of knowledge.

2. That the suit is barred by limitation, the cause of action having arisen more than three years before its institution.

3. That the alleged acknowledgement relied on by the plaintiff was not signed by the defendant.
